Taking place in Shanghai in June, ILTM Asia (International Luxury Travel Market) is an elite travel event at the epicenter of a booming luxury market. With China expected to replace Japan as the world's top consumer of luxury goods in 2012, ILTM creates an exclusive environment for buyers of luxury travel from across the Asia Pacific to discover the latest high-end travel experiences to meet their clients'increasing demands.

With a million residing millionaires and growing economic confidence, the wealth of China is expected to increase by a further 90% over the next four years.  The high-class Chinese are widely recognised as the fastest developing travel market, with travel accounting for almost 30% of these millionaires' consumption.  The value for their luxury travel agents and travel planners being accredited to attend ILTM Asia 2012 has never been more significant.

Alison Gilmore, ILTM and ILTM Asia Exhibition Director commented:

"The Asia-Pacific is driving growth in the luxury travel industry.  There are an estimated 250 million people from China now defined as 'buyers of luxury', and notably appearing to be following the Western trend of 'spending for experiences' in their travel preferences.  With Japan and Australia as established and integral outbound markets within the region, our research shows strong outbound luxury travel growth from other key markets including India and South Korea."

ILTM Asia is exclusively created for Asia-Pacific buying elite:planners and designers of luxury travel to meet directly with the world' leading – as well as the latest - luxury travel suppliers in a series of bespoke pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings and build on or develop long-term relationships.  To ensure a one-to-one ratio of arranged meetings throughout the event, 400 elite travel experiences are invited to meet with these discerning buyers at ILTM Asia.  These elite suppliers will include hidden luxury to wild escapes, authentic to gastronomic experiences, elite transportation to wellness retreats and spas, pampered luxury to philanthropy.

With ILTM also renowned for identifying insights into the future of the luxury travel industry, ILTM Asia 2012 will host a series of valuable educational programmes to assist buyers and suppliers with understanding specific regional markets and their wealthy clientele as well as increasing luxury travel sectors.
