Day 2 – Okavango Delta
A quick breakfast is served at the campsite, before you take a relaxing drive into the Okavango Delta. At the River you meet the guides and Mokoro poolers. They will organize you and your camping equipment in the boats and then you will continue on by traditional wooden dug-out canoe (or ‘Mokoro’). Gliding along the pristine channels, there is excellent opportunity for photography. Your Mokoro Guide will assist you to set up camp in the shade while looking out over the river. After you have prepared your own lunch and settled into your camp, your guide will take you on an afternoon game walk. Returning to camp in the cool of the early evening to cook dinner over and open fire.
Day 3 – Okavango Delta
Up before the sun, you set out by Mokoro or on foot, to explore the area in search of game. On most walks you will come across zebra, giraffe, elephant, jackals, antelope and fantastic bird life. On occasion you also see lion, leopard, buffalo, wild dog, bat-eared fox, hyena and other species. Walks are led by qualified guides who, like all the staff, are part of the community-based program they work closely with. During the hottest part of the day you can cool off in the river, or just relax before the afternoon outing. During the evening your guides will share stories around the fire while listening to the sounds of the African bush. Be prepared…if your Botswana hosts put on a song for you they will be expecting one in return!
Day 4 – Sitatunga Camp
Up early for those who wish to take a final walk, and then cruise back down the crystal clear channels of the Boro to your pick up at around 10.00am. You arrive back at Sitatunga Camp at approximately 12 noon. The afternoon can be spent relaxing in the pool, bar and restaurant or there is opportunity to do a optional scenic flight over the Okavango and get a birds eye view of the area that you have camped in over the last few days.
Day 5 - Airport Transfer
Enjoy a late breakfast in the restaurant, and then take a guided tour of the properties commercial crocodile farm before you are transferred to the airport for your onward flights. (Connections to Vic Falls or Namib Desert on request)
