International Tourism Congress- at Fira de Barcelona
From April鈥檚 15th to 18th will take place in Barcelona the 鈥Sal贸 Internacional del Turisme鈥 鈥 International Tourism Congress- at Fira de Barcelona. Tragedy in Haiti
OnJanuary 12th there was a devastating earthquake in Haiti, the poorest country in South America. The entire world was shocked by the magnitude of the tragedy and everybody tried to help as they could.
Equity Point also raised money for aid in two different events: we sponsored a solidarity concert called Toca Hait铆, and hosted another event at Equity Point Centric in Barcelona.

As many of you will already know, a new Equity Point location has been open in the city of Girona since last July.聽 The building in which the hostel is situated has been completely renovated to offer maximum comfort for our guests, and features spacious common areas, a guest kitchen, a bar, and a magnificent rooftop terrace with views聽 over the river and Girona鈥檚聽 famous historic centre.
Girona is the main destination for Ryanair in Catalunya, so, if your flight arrives very late or leaves early in the morning we invite you to enjoy our facilities and take advantage to get to know the city of Girona.
Girona, or Gerunda in Roman times, was invaded by the Moors 797 BC, and maintains one of the most important聽 Jewish Quarters聽 in all of Europe.聽 Girona is only one half hour by train to Figueras, which features the main Dali Museum, and also a half hour bus trip to any of the Costa Brava鈥檚聽 beaches.聽 It is difficult to imagine a better geographical for a city than Girona.

Here you will be able to find the highest profile happenings and cultural events taking place in cities where Equity Point has hostels: Barcelona, Madrid and Girona.聽 October is the month in which most Anglo-Saxon countries celebrate Halloween.聽 On the same dates, Barcelona and Girona celebrate la castanyada, the chestnut fair.聽 This popular celebration fills the streets with chestnut vendors and local panellets pastries.

Starting聽 on Friday, October 23rd, until October 31, Girona will once again be聽 the focal point in Catalunya for festivals聽 and shows.聽 The Festival of Sant Narcis will fill the city with music, artisan鈥檚 market, parties, fair stands,聽 street聽 stores and countless activities. The inaugural speech will have a culinary flair, with the Roca brothers,聽 from the famous Celler de Can Roca.

Doncs sí, fa fred. És més, en molts llocs de Catalunya està nevant. Cau neu allà on estan acostumats que ho faci, però també vora el mar, a la Barceloneta sense anar més lluny. I és que veure nevar ens agrada, sobretot a aquells que només ho veiem dins les boles d’aigua que sacsagem a els botigues per acabar tornant i oblidant en les lleixes un cop el floc toca el terra.
El que em sembla que passa és que la neu és romàntica. Ja està. Ja ho he dit. No passa res. I és que sembla que parlar de coses romàntiques ens fa por, queda malament i ens fa semblar massa bledes (tot i que les bledes i en el fons penso que moltes de les coses que ens agrada mirar, que ens provoca relax i recolliment, són imatges i sensacions romàntiques, en el sentit més estricte de la paraula. El foc i les brases d’una llar de foc, l’aigua que raja amb més o menys intensitat, la posta de sol que tenyeix el cel...jo mateix em sento ensucrdada només de fer aquesta llista. Però és que li hem de perdre la por a allò romàntic. I la neu ho és.
