Located in the southeast of Great Britain and crossed by the River Thames, London is a metropolis of about 8 million residents. Within a stretch of about 2.6 km2, we can find historic buildings such as Westminster Palace with the famous Big Ben, Tower Bridge and Buckingham Palace, or more avant-garde and modern architectural references such as the London City Hall, the Swiss Re Tower or the Millennium Bridge.
It is recognized as one of the cultural capitals of the world with a concentration of many internationally renowned museums such as the British Museum or the Tate Modern, and theatres: the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal National Theatre or the London Coliseum... The fame of these museums, for the quality of the exhibitions and for the fact that they are free, has made them an attraction for all travellers that value culture and history. And we must not forget the musical offer of the London theatres, which are only comparable to Broadway.
London is also known for its commercial variety. Boutiques, shopping centres and large markets offer all types of items that will satisfy all tastes, styles and budgets. However, 8 million Londoners and more than 16 million annual tourists couldn't enjoy London without the beauty of its parks: Hyde Park or Regent's Park, among others, are authentic green hearts for the city and thanks to a northern meteorology, they are full of life throughout the entire year.
