Jambo Boaz,
We just got back from our Tanzania safari. The arrangements that you made turned out very well. The lodges were first rate and the treatment that we received was excellent. Our older guest was treated as a rock star and everyone loved "Bibi"
Our guide, Peter, was professional, thoughtful, and helpful. Unfortunately there were some things that could have been better. Most significant was communication. Although Peter made every effort we had difficulty understanding him and he had the same problem with us. His soft voice was difficult to hear while driving (perhaps a microphone with a speaker in the back would help?) I emphasised the hope for a guide with knowlege of photography and birds and we had some challenges there as well.
All in all the trip was a success. We saw the big five. We were treated very well. The weather was great. I did get some good photographs. It was the trip of a lifetime for "Bibi" and she will be dreaming about it for a long long time.
Asante sana,
Richard Namikas

To Boaz,
We are now back home after an excellent 2 weeks in Kenya. We had an enjoyable time and overall everything went ok.
We took it easy in Nakuru as we had seen all the big 5 in Maasai Mara. No doubt David told you that we only went out on 2 short game drives. I will be returning in October and want to know roughly the cost for 6-8 persons.
Many thanks for everything

Hello Margaret, how are you? We are now back in Uruguay, it was a long way back home but everything was OK. All flights were on time and we arrived yesterday evening.
I will be sending you some pictures in the week, we haven't seen them all yet, we have so many! We miss Kenya already, it was such a nice trip... we loved the places and the people, everybody was so nice to us. I hope we can go back some time, and of course we will reccommend it to our family and friends!
I will keep in touch, thank you for helping us with this wonderfull trip and hope to see you soon!

Dear Margaret,
We appreciate very much your careful arrangement for our safari: David is experienced, vehicle in good condition, most lodges are comfortable except Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge seems a little lack of maintenance, but it has special experience that we have to be guarded from room to the restaurant because of the hippos, besides, even the picnic lunch is good!
I think more of our friends would come to Kenya after seeing our pictures and hear our comments.

We (Joel and Leah Parlow and Marc and Sherry Rapuch) recently went on Safari with you. Our driver/guide was Eric Otieno. I wanted to let you know that we had the most wonderful time. Eric was so fantastic. Not only is he incredibly knowledgable but he made us feel so comfortable and cared for and his sense of humour was great. I can't say enough about him. He is a true professional and a wonderful person.
Again, I want to thank you for an incredible experience. Every detail was perfect. We have highly recommended you to our friends who might be considering a safari. We hope to visit Africa again sometime in the future.

Dear Margaret,
Yinling and I are now back in Shanghai. Thank you once again for all your help in arranging a truly memorable trip for us.
You asked for a little feedback so here are some comments for you.
Before we left, and in planning our trip, we experienced nothing but fast and friendly responses from you. Each time we wanted to change our plans, you responded in a very timely manner and were very accommodating in our requests. Even when it came to payment, you kindly agreed to let us pay a deposit and bring the remaining balance in cash which we greatly appreciated. Thank you again for that. The service we received from first contact with Eastern and Southern Safaris right up until we arrived was perfect.
Both Julius and yourself were waiting for us at the airport and were very easy to recogise. You let us know what to look out for. Thank you.
During the Safari, Julius was very friendly and made great efforts to show us as much as he could. Each time we had a question about the different areas we were travelling to/through, about the animals, people etc he answered them in a very knowledgeable way. If we were a little late meeting in for a game drive, it never seemed a problem and at no time did we feel we had to rush. Julius gave us exactly what we wanted - a very relaxing holiday. We thank him for this and putting up with us for the week we were in Kenya.
The only time I experienced anything negative at all (and I understand that this has nothing to do with Eastern and Southern Safaris) was at the Naivasha Sopa Lodge. I wanted to buy stamps for some postcards that I had purchased previously. However, the man in the gift shop refused to sell me any as I had not purchased his cards. He was a little rude about this and it left me a little upset as up until this point, we had experienced nothing but overly friendly people going out of their way to help us and make our trip relaxing and memorable. Again, I know this is not a reflection on your company.
As far as the extra activities go, we did take a forest walk at the mountain lodge and had a bush 'tea party'. I was not expecting this which was a lovely surprise. We are very pleased we did this. We also had massages at the Samburu Game lodge and Susan (I believe this was her name) was amazing. She explained what type of massage she gave and left us feeling relaxed and refreshed. We also went on a boat ride at Lake Naivasha which was a great way to leave Kenya. Our guide started off by saying 'let me give you a great tour. Leave it to me and do not worry about anything.'
In short, I would have no trouble recommending Eastern and Southern Safaris to friends if they were thinking of taking a trip to Africa.
As you know, it was my second trip to Kenya. However, this time, I can honestly say that you and Julius provided superior service. At no time did we have to worry about anything anything. In addition to this, the trip was very comfortable and the vehicle which was used was very clean. Thank you. As for any options or extra activities, there was no pressure to partake in them which was also appreciated. I had looked at different Safari company's before deciding to use Eastern and Southern Safaris. We are very glad in the end, we used your services. We could not have imagined a better time than what we had. I hope I can recommend Eastern and Southern Safaris to friends/colleages and use your services myself in the future.
Thank you to you and Julius for everything!

Margaret; Just a note to thank you for organizing our recent,
wonderful safari. We got home on Sunday evening after spending three
weeks with our daughter and son-in-law in Italy. We really appreciated
having Julius as our guide. He did a superb job. If possible, could
you either have him send me his e-mail address as I told him we would

incorrectly; or if he allows you to send it to me, you could do it.
Thank you.

Dear Margaret:
Thank you for arranging such a pleasant journey for us, we both enjoyed this holiday very much with no regrets!
Only one little dispointment, which was happened in Sopa Lodge in Lake Navasha, we believe someone swot 2 fake USD 100 bill with us, becoz that's the only time I left I bag in the lodge unattended, and when we headed back, Chris found out his passport has been taken out. The other times, I always carry my handbag with me.
We understand, it's our mistake to leave the handbag in the room unattended, just want you to let the lodge ppl know what happened to prevent similar cases happen.
Again, Thank you very much for the pleasant trip!

Dear Margaret,
Thanks a lot for the great arrangement for us. We really appreciate that. The journey was very great and beyond the imagination. We have seen almost every animal except Leopard. But this is a good reason that we will come back in the future.
The wild world is fantastic. We have never seen animals in such close distance. Giraffe Manor was so amazing. The overnight there was unforgettable. The hotels of other days had also many specialities. Our guide Ammoss is so experienced that he has such acute sense of smell of animals. He did not go the normal ways with others by safaris. By every safari he has always given us surprises. He knows where the animals hide, where they rest, even where they go hunting. All the members in our team have enjoyed this journey very much.
By the way i have a tiny suggestion. Between the long drive from one park to another park perhaps the guide can introduce more to us. e.g. the history of Kenya, the social situation and so on.
At last thanks again for your great arragement. Please say high to Ammoss. We will send him the pictures soon.

Marg and I would like to thank you for arranging a great tour of parks and reserves in Kenya and Tanzania. Everything went smoothly and there were no difficulties. We have many vivid and valuable memories of the wildlife and countryside in both countries
The driver/guides were great in particular Eric whom we would recommend to any prospective clients. His professional yet casual manner meant we felt comfortable travelling with him and he was a well spoken informative and amusing conversationalist on our sometimes long drives. We learnt a lot about the wildlife and Kenya. He was always keen to make sure we had good positions for our game drive viewing especially in the Massai Mara where we saw four crossings. Felix our guide in Tanzania was also informative and keen to make sure we rounded off our sightings of the big five with a sighting of leopards on our Tanzanian journey.
The accommodation and food at all the resorts was rated from very good to exceptional. The meal offerings were of a high standard and the choices particularly the desserts meant we added a few extra kilos.
I am glad that you supported us not to change our itinerary. Also Serena lodge at Ngorongoro was great with the views and quality of accommodation.
We really enjoyed Lake Nakuru and the extra day meant we were able to fully cover all the main sights in a relaxed timeframe. So we would recommend a two day stay there. It was here that Eric took us to a spot where we saw a male lion climb a tree to be with his female partner already in the tree only to be spurned. The accommodation at the Sarova and the food were of a high standard.
Based on our experiences we would recommend Eastern and Southern.
Asante sana.

Our guide made it very special and memorable for us. The guide was extremely polite and flexible with our timing. The camps that were offered to us also contributed to our best possible experience. They were clean, welcoming, and supplied with great food.
One thing to mention was the dirt road travelling to Masai Mara. If we knew about it, we would have chosen to arrive to the mara by air. Of course we understand this is outside the range of responsibilities of travel agents, but it is worth mentioning this detail and providing more options for visitors to arrive by air.
I am not sure what other information you may be seeking in terms of review, I'd be happy to respond if you mention specific questions.

Good Morning Margaret,
I hope all is well with you today. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you so much for the wonderful outcome of our Kenya Safari. Everyone in our group had a wonderful time and will be talking about this trip for a long time to come. We are all filled with great memories of the people, the incredible scenery and of course the beautiful animals of Kenya.
We were very happy with all the lodges, food and activities offered to us. Choosing tented camps for us was a great choice as I feel we all had a much more authentic experience as opposed to staying in lodges. - » Shuo

Margaret,
We are back home, finally and smoothly:-)
We'd like to thank you a lot for your all kinds of support to make this trip possible, and end smoothly:-)
The safari trip has been wonderful. There were surprises everyday, giraffes, elephants, zabras, wildebeests, lions, all kinds of birds... We saw all the animals in our dreams. As what my son said, "In the past, I could only see this view on TV programs. Now it's live in front of my eyes."
And Kenyan people are also wonderful, they are so nice to us and pleasant. We saw a lot of kids waving to us on the road, but it was a pity that we didn't have chances to know them more.
The lodges and camps were wonderful, and the food was great too. During the trip we experienced different types of lodges/camps, and each has its own specialty.
In Kilaguni Serena Lodge, we love the rooms there and especially the 2 rooms for me and my husband and our boys, they were internally connected! And we love the water pool for the animals too.
Finally, we'd like to express our big appreciation to you and Amos for your great support to help us solve the last day problem:-) It was a big problem for us, but you helped to make it easier.
All in all, it's been a wonderful trip, and we will come to this beautiful country again. And we will recommend Eastern and Southern to all our friends!

Dear Serah,
As promised a few words about our safari.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience in large part due to Joel our guide who was outstanding.
He is an accomplished driver who clearly knows the area intimately and is able to take advantage of opportunities that others seem to miss. He has a profound knowledge of the wildlife and their habitat and the ability to impart that information the right measure. He obviously cares deeply for the animals and their environment and that is infectious. A deeply caring man who is good company and has a delightful manner will all.
The hotels were comfortable and run efficiently. In all three the service and housekeeping were first class.
The second day on Lake Naivasha was a wonderful experience and the variety quite unexpected. Walking amongst the zebra and giraffe in particular we felt greatly priveleged. We loved the fact that at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge there were animals in the grounds so close to us and we had to be escorted to and from the restaurant because the hippos were nearby.
I particularly enjoyed a leisurely horseride through the grounds. The horses were in good condition and well cared for.
At Sentrim Mara Tented village which was our favourite the grounds were lovely (not too manicured) and being in a "tent" the sounds of the night were enhanced.
The balloon flight was a great success as we saw a variety of wildlife and to top it all had a lovely breakfast.
A once in a life time trip that we would highly recommend.
Best Wishes

Hi Siema
A little belated, but I just wanted to say thank you for all your arrangements for our recent safari. As always, your organisation was spot-on and everything went extremely smoothly.
It is very comforting to know that whenever you are involved in our arrangements we will not have any problems, and I am extremely happy to be able to refer you to others who are considering travel in your area (although I don't think anyone has got to the point of a genuine enquiry yet!).
I believe that you hadn't previously booked guests to Serian, and I am very happy to highly recommend them for anyone looking for a more 'remote' experience, especially in their mobile camp. Our stay there was the highlight of my trip, and I really did not want to leave (we will have to stay longer next time!).
Again, thank you for your kind assistance with all of our arrangements, and the extra level of service in accompanying us to Westlands and resolving our booking problem at Fairview on our first evening there.
Kind regards

Dear Boaz,
Thanks to you and to Eastern & Southern Safari Co. for setting up our fabulous trip to Kenya and Tanzania in September. We loved the national parks and preserves that we visited; they were all so wonderful each in their own way. Perhaps my favorites are Samburu, Lake Nakuru and the Maasai Mara. I am so glad that you encouraged us to go to Samburu; it is a great place for animals like the grevy zebra and the oryx that don't exist elsewhere. All of the lodges where we stayed were terrific, the food was good and the staff very friendly.
Our guides were all very knowledgeable and patient in searching for the different animals and in their willingness to let us take as long as we wanted to see and to photo each animal or group. Our guides were able to see animals far away and take us to them; they knew the animals habits and patterns which helped in spotting the animals. We saw the big 5 many times plus cheetahs, a pair of wild dogs, a serval cat and a genet cat plus many, many other animals and birds. The balloon trip at dawn over the Masai Mara is spectacular and should not be missed. The balloon company you selected provided experienced pilots and staff and it was a safe and beautiful float over the plains.
The Range Rover vehicle is a must for navigating through the rough roads in the parks and our driver never had any trouble getting around whereas some of the minivans got stuck. This is a real plus for ESS trips.
All of our travel arrangements were smooth and we had no difficulty whatsoever throughout the trip. Our guides were always on time and professional while being friendly and representing their country very well. We learned a tremendous amount from each of the guides about the animals and also about Kenya and Tanzania .
We were thrilled with our trip and enthusiastically recommend ESS for anyone who is considering a safari in Kenya and Tanzania .

Hi Vera,
I am very happy to give a glowing reference to Eastern & Southern Safaris, we had a wonderful time.
Our guide Michael was 1st class, friendly, knowledgeable and made my wish come true to see Hippos. I had made my wishes known to Eastern & Southern Safaris beforehand that it was a priority to see Hippos, however this was not included in the itinerary. Michael to the rescue! he juggled our time of departure and our meal times and fitted in between transfer from one location to another.
Fot that reason I would give the company Eastern & Southern Safaris 9 out of 10. And a big fat 10 to Michael, thank you so much you made our trip.
The location of our accommodation were all very different, with different experiences in each location, all in all it was well planned and I would definitely do it again, and would not hesitate to recommend, infact I have given the details to a colleague.

Hi Brian
Well, where do I start? First of all I can tell you that Serah's arrangements were excellent. Everything went well without a hitch.
It was the best holiday in my life. Borneo was great, as you know, but Kenya and Tanzania were just absolutely amazing.
For Kenya I had "George" as my driver, Tanzania Meeshack. I enjoyed Kenya very much, and Tanzania was outstanding. I 've got 16GB of video and pictures, had to buy 2 more cards. I have also adopted a chimpnazee "poco" from the Jane Goodall centre. He is blind and my little dog Kelly is also blind, thats why I did it.
To see lions walking right infront of and beside your car is really something. Television has shown us a lot of the country and animals, but seeing it all in reality is totally different, I could go on and on, it would fill pages.
The one thing that bothered me was the tipping (you did that for us in Borneo) and having to buy things you dont really want, because they make you feel so guilty, in their eyes we are rich.
Cheers,

Dear Bernard,
We're home and still oohing and awing over all that we have been able to see and do since Jan.13 with your help. A great big thank you to you, Michael, and the company Eastern and Southern Safari Co. for the wonderful sights and experiences we had in Kenya and Tanzania. The Leopard part of the tour was very well done. We had a guide called Paul and he knew his birds and with 22 years experience he really knew where to go to get what we wanted. With him we were able to experience the migration of wildebeest and zebra through the southern part of the Serengeti. Michael was a great guide. We liked him alot and he guided us through the travel in Kenya in a professional but personal way. It was all just fantastic and yes we will be telling our friends about what we've experienced and telling them all about your company.
You listened to our requests, you answered all our questions, and you chose wonderful drivers who made our experience great. We will be back if at all possible. I look forward to seeing you at that time once more.

Serah;
I just wanted to send you a note to let you know that I thoroughly enjoyed the Safari you arranged for Billy Dodson and myself. The accommodations and food were excellent at all camps and lodges. I especially enjoyed the Sarova Mara Tented Camp and their staff in Kenya.
This was my second trip to East Africa. My wife and I had a 2 week safari the last 2 weeks of September 2009 which was wonderful and resulted in my wishing to return someday. This trip far exceeded my expectations with respect to the animal and bird life we photographed and the guides you provided. Seeing and photographing the very young cheetahs was a huge bonus! I really enjoyed David Muteti. His keen eyesight for finding animals I would never have seen was remarkable. And I believe his knowledge of the animals and how best to approach them was better than I observed from most of the other guides we saw on our safari. Both he and Salvatore were very accommodating and made me feel we had known each other for many years.
Pending safari costs and our financial situation, my wife and I hope to be part of Billy's Ndutu Photo Safari in February 2012.
Thanks for organizing such a great Safari.

Jambo Bernard,
Habari yako? How can I ever find the words to express my gratitude to you and everything that makes up Eastern Safaris? I don’t think that I can actually express and convey the gratitude I have with especially you, your company, and such a professional and friendly escort as we found in Christopher!
From the beginning, I not only enjoyed working on our itinerary together but felt as though I met a new friend! You were refreshing, informative, and always a joy when it came to receiving your professional letters! Your courteousness, as well as friendship, truly touched my heart! You were my first experience in coming in to contact with a new culture. A culture that will always hold a special place in my heart, thanks to you! I will truly miss you Bernard and receiving your letters!
Where did you ever find the BEST possible tour guide like Christopher? Let me tell you Bernard, he is incredible! It was such a delight to wake up every morning and find Christopher always waiting for you, so promptly, with the biggest smile on his face. His expertise, professionalism, teacher of Swahili, and his company proved to be an experience of a lifetime. I don’t think I will ever forget him as long as I live. Will you please tell him I gave his message to my brother? He will know what I mean. I became very close with him as we discussed so many things together from personal matters, worldly matters, to his knowledge on all the wildlife inhabiting the great African plains! Please tell him I would like his address to keep in touch! Also tell him I have attached a picture of my new dog named Molly!
As soon as I get my pictures together, I will send you a few good ones!

Asante sana! With your wonderful planning, our Northern Tanzanian safari was one of the greatest adventures we have ever had! The Serena Lodges were all tops with excellent accommodations, food and service. Our driver/guide, Meshack, from Leopard Tours was terrific. He was very knowledgeable and friendly. He knew where to find the game for viewing and was patient as we stopped for every animal on the northern circuit. We always felt very safe as well. We were a little disappointed not to see the rhino but we saw cheetahs and leopards on several occasions and a serval cat! Meshack was wonderful at spotting game. In effect, hakuna matata! Dear Siema,
Well - home at last but hearts and minds still full of all our adventures in Kenya and Tanzania. Thank you so much for all your assistance in preparing for our holiday. It was so good to meet you in person in Nairobi.
Big thanks also to our wonderful guides, Michael in Kenya and Moison in Tanzania. They looked after us with great care. Their kindness and sense of humour was much appreciated and helped to make the trip memorable.
We both feel the best part of Africa for us was meeting African people, mainly in the camps and lodges where we stayed. At Kichwa Tembo in the Masai Mara and Pongwe Beach in Zanzibar (in particular) we enjoyed the warmth and friendliness of the staff - a candlelit dinner in front of our tent at Kichwa Tembo with rose petals, lots of hurricane lamps and great food was just fantastic. We are still unsure as to why this happened, but it was great fun. John celebrated his 75th birthday at Pongwe Beach in style - a seafood dinner on the beach, bottle of bubbly, and a birthday cake. So many memories.
The animals were amazing. We kept enjoying our game drives up to the very end of our safari - we must have seen many hundreds of elephants, wildebeest, impalas and others, but our enjoyment didn't wane. Highlights perhaps were the rhinos practising their head butting at Sweetwaters and the large pride of lions in the Serengeti resting their bloated stomachs after feeding on a wildebeest. Each day brought new sightings.
The accommodation at the camps and lodges was also very good - interesting structures, and amazing views and gardens. We always had a comfortable bed. Sweetwaters certainly merits an extra day, our tent looking out at a waterhole watching the animals and birds drinking.
If you want to include any of this on your website please do so. We will certainly be doing our best here in Australia to encourage family and friends to visit Africa.
Best wishes to all at Eastern & Southern Safaris - you excel in the service you offer.
Kindest regards

Dear Siema,
We arrived home on 3 October after a wonderful time in Africa. It was good to meet with you in Nairobi. Thank you very much for your organisation of the Kenya/Tanzania Safari, which was a great experience. Your arrangements all went perfectly well and the lodges were all excellent. All went well on the safari, except for a very minor accommodation incident in Tanzania, of which Leopard Tours are aware.
As many safari websites indicate, the most important person for making the safari memorable is the guide. Francis Njoroge was an
excellent guide who made our experience one to remember for a lifetime. Francis was very courteous, but related to us all very
well, and we came to accept him as a good friend. He willingly and voluntarily shared his knowledge with us at all times, explaining
about the culture of the country and the flora and fauna that we encountered. He went out of his way to find the animals on the game
drives and gave unstintingly of his time to conduct game drives.
We saw many animals in your great country, including the "Big Five", four of which we saw in our first game drive in Samburu! We cannot praise Francis more highly for his knowledge and his effort which made this safari a memorable one for the four of us. We would be very happy to recommend him as an excellent guide to any friends who decide to travel to Kenya.
Our travels with your partner organisation, Leopard Tours, also went very well and our guide Joshua also related to us well and shared his knowledge with us to, overall, make this a wonderful safari. We can truly say that the safari went as described on your website, and as outlined by you on the first day, and exceeded our expectations. Thank you.
Finally, thank you to Eastern and Southern Safaris, to yourself and to Francis. I hope that you may be able to pass our comments on to Francis and to thank him for the excellent job he did for your company.

Hello Serah,
Katrin and I arrived back in Germany this morning, as we spend some more days in Kenya after the end of our safari (travelling to Mombasa and along the coast).
We want to say “asante sana” for organizing a fantastic safari for us! George is a very nice person and a reliable driver. Please say hello to him!
The offered route and the lodges were excellent and so we enjoyed every single day and had a great time.
We never regretted to have selected your company for our safari and we hope to return one day.
Best regards from Germany,

Hi Boaz,
We wanted to let you know that we had the most incredible trip! It was so much more than we ever imagined! Everything was perfect - from Tony our guide, to the lodges, and of course, the setting. Tony was so knowledgable and helpful - he was a very safe driver and so considerate of anything we might need. He helped make our trip what it was and I would recommend him to anyone we know!
I can't express how thankful we are for the level of service you and your company provided - everything was seamless and we felt at ease the entire trip. We loved every minute of it and hope that we can go again soon! Our friends and family are jealous, looking at our pictures, and I will refer them to your excellent company and you and Tony.
I've attached a few pictures - if you could also share with Tony, that would be much appreciated. One includes the albino white baboon which he has been looking for for the past 6 years!
Thank you for making a dream come true!

Driver/Guides Ben and Rafael each had unique talents that added to the enjoyment of the trip. Ben is a superb bird guide with amazing spotting skills that extend to all species and has tales that would make a fascinating novel. Rafael is great at avoiding the Mara crowds and searching out animals independently, maintaining respect for the wildlife even when the masses of vehicles do not, and maximizing time in the bush.
E&S is a great value.

The final itinerary took an embarrassingly large number of email exchanges initiated by me, re-workings, lodging changes, and finally a shift of an entire month, but Boaz of E&S was always responsive, helpful and patient with my many revisions and tweaks.

Aberdare’s Fishing Lodge had 360 degrees of beautiful mountaintop scenery. Spoor indicated lots of animal visitors and I saw a Duiker, Jackson’s Francolin, and Waterbuck. With less rain, I’d have seen more wildlife around the banda. The nearby Magura River could be heard flowing, even when inside but I was warned not to venture down the path to the river without an armed guard due to buffalo. Meru’s Kinnas Bandas were near the Bwathernrongi River and boasted an abundance of animals and birds—herds of impala, troops of baboons and vervets, agama lizards, two resident genets, woodpeckers, a variety of weavers, even several appearances of the Paradise Flycatcher with its flowing white tail feathers. Some nights there were non-stop baboon alarm calls and internal squabbles, plus lions roaring to each other. One night we could hear lions chase an antelope around the building and the tracks we saw the next day confirmed the pursuit.
In sum, I loved the KWS bandas and not just as a means for saving money on lodging.

All food was fantastic, whether it was the extensive buffets at the lodges or meals prepared by Martin, the Eastern & Southern Chef who accompanied us to the bandas.
Chef Martin told me he had always enjoyed cooking and loved his job, which was evident by the fine meals he served. As part of the pre-trip planning, I had requested that the chef prepare a few typical Kenyan meals and Martin obliged with some excellent ugali offerings and fish dishes.

In Aberdare, our 10.5-hour outing included three easy hikes to three waterfalls: Karuru, Magura, Chania. With 6 trained eyes of Ben, William, and the KWS ranger, plus mine, no Giant Forest Hog or anything else escaped us! This was a fantastic way to become immersed in the habitats Aberdare National Park and The Salient it is known for, and to view the wildlife that call it home. What a quality outing!

My main reason for visiting Meru was the chance to see Lesser Kudus. Though they are abundant in Meru, they are not easy to see (thank goodness for Ben’s sharp eyes) and even harder to get a picture of due to their shy nature and preference for browsing in the brush. I managed a half dozen nice photos and views of about 30 Lesser Kudu.
--------------------
I had hoped to see a wildebeest crossing in the Mara since I was traveling during migration time. Thanks to Rafael’s patience and willingness to spend 11 hours at the river, I saw three crossings in one day, plus one more another day. One of the crossings lasted 45 minutes and contained thousands upon thousands of wildebeests and about 5 zebra with 1 hippo looking on.

Asante sana for making my 15th safari a great one. Hope to return again.
