Malawian Style is a brand new venture due to launch in July 2010. They specialise in comfortable but affordable small group tours (max 8 people) in Malawi, combining quality game reserves (Liwonde and Luangwa), the stunning Lake Malawi and the magical Zomba and Mulanje Mountains. Accommodation used is in unique privately owned cottages and quality game reserves. Their mission is to offer tours that are great fun and great value for money to young professionals, who will become lifelong friends. Their target market is 18-35 year old people, as some of the mountain climbing and sports do require certain fitness levels. However, they would love to accommodate families and others who are up for the challenge and we can adapt accordingly. The aim is to be somewhere between backpacking and luxury and therefore offer comfortable transportation, comfortable accommodation and good wholesome food. Drinks are reasonably priced and run on an honesty system. Malawian Style is small and unique and aims to offer a more personal holiday in the warm heart of Africa.
The standard tour being offered is 14 nights combining the mountains, waterfalls, tea estates, plateaus, game reserves and the magical Lake Malawi. In Liwonde and Luangwa (Zambia) the accommodation will be in luxury safari tents including meals, game drives with experienced game rangers. In Mulanje, Zomba and the shores of Lake Malawi accommodation will be in unique privately owned cottages. The cottages are completely equipped and there are good staff who cook, clean, assist with Laundry etc. While staying in the cottages there will be 3 wholesome meals per day and drinks, teas and coffees readily available. In addition, at the cottages on the shores of Cape Maclear, Lake Malawi there is a boat and all water sport toys that will be used for water-skiing, wakeboarding, banana rides, tubing, sunset cruises, fishing, island trips and snorkelling. Having had personal experience of the area for over 20 years, Malawian Style's owner knows where the good fishing and snorkelling spots nearby are, and a few unique isolated beaches that are perfect picnic spots. Cape Maclear itself is a National Park – one of the few inland lake National Parks in the world. Malawian Style are also putting on a special 16-day Lake of Stars tour that includes the best of the above tour and the unique experience of the Lake of Stars International Music festival. The corporate world isn’t keen on employees taking leave, and certainly not much of it. If two weeks is too much to ask for, also on offer are 9 night/10 night packages that include both the Lake and either Liwonde, Mulanje and Zomba or Luangwa, depending on which option suits best.
