Hotels – Tanga - Pangani Beach

Emayani Beach Lodge

Emayani is a small & friendly lodge built in a coconut grove on the shore of Tanzania’s mainland, just opposite to Zanzibar island.

Our palm-thatched bunglows provide comfortable accomodation with a ‘Robinson Crusoe’ ambience. All have verandas with superb views of the Indian Ocean, large cool rooms with comfortable beds, and ‘en suite’ bathrooms.

Our spacious and airy palm leaf bungalows, or ‘bandas’ are widely spaced along the shore of our own coconut grove.

The bandas are built from renewable local materials - coconut-leaf mats and sisal poles. They blend into the environment and provide a comfortable shady retreat from the warmth, with all the comforts you would expect.
At the front of each banda is a wide verandah with comfy chairs, where you can sit and watch the ocean or enjoy your sundowner.

Inside is a large bedroom with a huge, a large bedroom with a huge, very comfortable bed. There is plenty of space so we can easily add additional beds without crowding. And though we aren’t much troubled by insects, all beds have spacious mosquito nets

Beyond the bedroom is an ‘en suite’ bathroom with a western style toilet, shower, and solar heated water.

The bandas have windows with roll up blinds which allow you to control the cooling effect of the sea breeze. If you like you can roll up all the blinds and enjoy having the view of the ocean and palms all around you.

Camps and Lodges – Mikumi National Park

Vuma Camp - Fox

Vuma Hills Tented Camp is perched above the trees stretching over the seemingly endless wilderness south west of Mikumi National Park. 'Vuma' translated from Kiswahili means 'a good rumour that is spread with the blowing wind'. Now a reality rather than just a rumour, it is the ideal place to evoke the true spirit of Africa.

This luxurious permanent tented camp is perched above the trees stretching over the seemingly endless wilderness south west of Mikumi National Park. The 16 tents are large and comfortable with a rather old fashioned colonial décor. Sleeping under canvas at Vuma is a far cry from the discomfort usually associated with camping.

Complete with shaded wooden veranda at the front and en suite bathroom facilities at the back, there is not much to be asked for, the tents have en-suite facilities and shady verandahs. The dining bar area overlooks the swimming pool, creating an oasis of tranquillity in the dusty hot climate of the lowlands.
